Instrumental
We have several opportunities for instrumentalists wishing to serve in worship gatherings here at First Norfolk.  Being a part of these groups requires commitment, as each are involved in weekly services as well as special events throughout the year.  If you are interested in learning more or becoming a part of these groups please check out the following:

Worship Orchestra
The Worship Orchestra plays in Sunday morning services at the Norfolk Location and is made up of high school sophomores and above who have at least an intermediate skill level in their chosen instrument.  A weekly rehearsal is held on Wednesday nights for those interested in serving in this capacity.

Norfolk Location Rhythm Section
The Norfolk Location Rhythm Section consists of highly skilled individuals who play at three Sunday morning services each week at the Norfolk Location.  This group is joined by audition only.

onetwentyseven
The onetwentyseven Band is involved in weekly services on Sunday mornings and Thursday nights at our worship space in Crossroads Center, Suite 127.  This group serves in our ministry for 18-20 Somethings and is comprised of instrumentalists of the same age primarily playing a more contemporary worship style.

Vocal
We have numerous opportunities for vocalists of all ages to get involved in the Worship Arts Ministry at First Norfolk.  We have choir programs for preschoolers, children, and adults that meet each Wednesday night, a student choir that meets on Sundays, and a choir for senior adults that practices together on Tuesdays.  The Voices of Praise Choir leads regularly on Sunday mornings, while the programs for children, students, and senior adults have the opportunity to lead occasionally in worship on Sundays in addition to the other special events throughout the year.  For more information on these programs, please see the links below.

Preschool Praise Choir & KidsPraise Choir
The PreschoolPraise Choir is for children ages 3, 4, and 5, while the Kids Praise Choir is for any student first through fifth grade.  Each group meets on Wednesday nights during the school year, sings in special events, and culminates in a concert for the preschoolers along with a dramatic musical for the children presented near the end of the school year.

Captured Student Choir
Captured Student Choir is made up of sixth to twelfth graders who desire to serve as worship leaders on Sunday mornings throughout the year and in special presentations such as Christmas at First or youth musicals.  The group meets on Sunday evenings each week during the school year.

Voices of Praise Choir
Voices of Praise is the choir you see on Sunday mornings at the Norfolk location.  This dedicated group of worship leaders practices on Wednesday nights and sings regularly on Sunday morning.  The group is comprised of high school graduates and above.

Master’s Choir
Master’s Choir is the exceptionally active senior adult choir that is made up of adults 55 years and older who are primarily members of First Baptist Norfolk although there are members from other area churches as well.  They meet each Tuesday afternoon to rehearse for their various mission opportunities and special events.

Vocal Praise Team
The Vocal Praise Teams at First Norfolk consist of committed members of the Worship Arts Ministry chosen by the Worship Pastor.  These teams put in extra hours of rehearsal and are responsible to lead the church community in worship on Sunday mornings at the Norfolk Campus.
