What is a Community Connection Group or CCG?
CCGs are small groups of 4-12 people, meeting in peoples’ homes or offices during times not reserved for church building activities. They are designed to meet the same basic goals Sunday Bible Study classes meet. While organized for Bible study, personal ministry and outreach, they tend to be less formal than standard Bible study classes which allow the atmosphere to be more casual.
Each CCG develops a personality of its own based on the individuals within their group. The meeting location, age range of the participants, whether or not children are a concern, meeting days and times, how often the group meets, etc. all have an impact shaping the CCG’s personality. All these different personalities are a benefit that should make it easier to attract others to your group.
CCGs are not meant to replace traditional Sunday Bible study. They are a different avenue to reach people in our communities.Every church attendee needs to be in small group Bible study whether it’s in a CCG or a traditional Bible study class. They both have equal value and goals – Christian maturity.
