The Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Norfolk exists to glorify God by reaching, teaching, and encouraging the women of our church and Hampton Roads. Our ministry is designed to help women connect to one another in settings where they can build meaningful relationships with other women as they come to faith in God, grow in Christian maturity, and live out their faith by service to others. Our mission is to provide opportunities for women to grow in their faith as they make friends who can encourage them on their journey with God. Our Bible studies, LIFEgroups, encouragement groups, mission groups, community ministries, and special events are planned with the needs of women in mind! Many of our ministries provide wonderful programs for preschool age and homeschooled children. Our desire is for women to Love God, Love Others, and Live the Mission!

Annie is simply a follower of Jesus which has led her to become a pastor’s wife, homeschooling mom, “Church Planting Spouse Advocate,” and occasional speaker and author. In 2008, the Garmans were sent to Iceland as IMB missionaries which ended in a medical situation (long story, check out the book) and the birth of the “Iceland Project.” She and her family currently serve at Pillar Church in Northern Virginia where the traffic is thick, but ministry opportunities abound. Pillar has started an initiative to plant a network of churches at military installations worldwide (praetorianproject.org) which makes church life exciting. She is passionate about pointing people to Christ, no matter where they are, and prays her life will do just that. Annie shares her thoughts at anniebgarman.com.
