Welcome to one of the exciting ministries at First Norfolk!

Here’s a little about us:

The Young at Heart Ministry serves active men and women over the age of 50.
In Young at Heart, seniors can continue to use their gifts and skills where they feel most comfortable.
We have monthly activities and additional Young at Heart ministry opportunities where seniors can meet new friends, serve, volunteer, and participate in activities of their interest. Everything the Young at Heart does has God at the center as its goal.

Monthly Program: Special Speaker, Food, Fun, and Fellowship for All Senior Adults!
Special Annual Events: Senior Adult Summer Camp, Young at Heart Christmas Social
Additional Young at Heart Ministry Opportunities: Young at Heart Master’s Choir, Senior Adult Council, Young at Heart Sponsored Trips Mission Dignity: In support of retired pastors and their wives Young at Heart generously donates

Our Mission is to honor God by:
Providing opportunities for spiritual growth for senior adults;
Creating opportunities for fellowship and adventure;
Reaching lost and unchurch senior adults.

Program: Love is in the Air

Speakers: Rodney Brown

Join us for a fun morning as we celebrate the songs of love, from “It Had To Be You” to “O, How I Love Jesus.” Rodney Brown will share the history of each song or hymn and then invite us to sing along. Dress in your best Valentine’s Day attire for this party. Rodney was born and raised in Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Kentucky and joined Naval Aviation through the Aviation Officer Candidate School as a Naval Flight Officer. His military service included completing 11 Active duty and 11 Reserve Officer years. His work career outside of the Navy consisted of a variety of jobs including Sales Rep, Financial Advisor and finally as a Government Services employee. Recently retired, he is active in several FBCN ministries, including the Choir, Food Ministry, and the Missions Ministry Team. He will lead a group of volunteers to Montreal, Canada this July as part of a Send Relief Serve Tour. He joined FBCN in 2010 and is an active member of the Life Together LIFEGroup. Rodney has one daughter, Sarah, and three grandchildren, Silas, Ava, and Isaac.

Are you homebound or know someone who is homebound who would like to be a part of a telephone LIFEgroup that meets weekly?

This group provides prayer support, care, encouragement and an opportunity to find hope in God’s word each Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. In Touch Homebound group members can join in by calling 1-701-802-5445.
