We want learning about God to be fun and exciting!  We welcome children, grades 1-5, to join us each Sunday in a grade level LIFEgroup where they will:

  • - be greeted by friendly, nurturing, and encouraging leaders;
  • - Learn, through Bible study, how to apply God’s word into their lives;
  • - grow a loving and lasting relationship with Jesus;
  • - create friendships with others.

It is our desire to share God’s love with every child to a point where they will choose to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

LIFEgroups at Kempsville Road Location: 9:30 am and 11 am
LIFEgroups at Volvo Parkway Location: 9:30 am

To ensure the security and safety of each child we use the security check-in system Checkpoint. Parents will be directed to a kiosk to check-in their child. They will receive a name badge  for the child and a parent badge, which will show a new and unique matching number each week for security purposes. First time guests please sign-in at the Children’s Desk.

Throw on your camera strap and buckle your seatbelt. VBS 2019 takes you on a wild adventure—with elephants and egrets, polar bears and penguins, cockatoos and crocodiles. As you seek out exotic animals, you’ll also find snapshots of real-life encounters with Jesus in Scripture. Kids go from bewildered to believing as they get In The Wild at next summer’s VBS. VBS takes place June 24-28, 2019!

VBS will be held at First Norfolk on Kempsville Road from 9 am-12:15 pm. VBS is free and open to all children age 4-grade 5. VBS will be held at First Norfolk on Volvo Parkway from 6:30-8:45 pm.

Watch highlights from VBS 2018!

First Norfolk's Children's Camp is August 13-17! Third through fifth graders can jump on board the train at Camp Willow Run to join us for Children’s Camp, where we sleep in real boxcars and spend our days having fun in Lake Gaston, enjoying s'mores by the campfire, and learning about Jesus.

We desire for every child to have a place where they can learn about God’s love and where families can worship and serve. We ask that parents register their child so that we may know best how to meet their needs. We use combinations of an orientation, short-term pull out class, and integration of special needs children into the existing LIFEgroups with ‘buddies.'

The purpose of Bible Drill is to help children

  • - increase in knowledge of the Bible
  • - develop skills in locating Bible books and key passages
  • - memorize the names of the books of the Bible in order plus selected Bible verses and key passages
  • - and learn how to apply the Bible to their lives

To Build up and equip one another in our calling as Homeschool mothers through the study of God's Word, encouragement, mentoring and fellowship. This group meets the second Tuesday of each month (except June, July & August) from 10:00 am-11:45 am in Room #307. Leader: Gretchen Gray,

Mom to Mom is a Biblically based ministry designed around the Titus 2:4 concept of older women teaching and encouraging younger women in their relationships with their husbands and children." Each week at Mom to Mom more experienced moms and younger moms interact encouraging one another through conversation and small group discussion. The Mom to Mom meetings are a safe place to bring friends. Click here for more information and to register.
