The Young at Heart group meets each month on the first Tuesday at 10 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Each month, we spend time in the Word, praying, have interesting speakers, time for fellowship, singing, and the occasional special feature. Dr. Richard Coleman Brown will be educating us on "Medicine in Early Virginia." The presentation will begin at Jamestown and will trace the early ideas of disease, treatments, and practitioners. The presentation will move to the developments of medicine in the late 19th century such as the germ theory of disease and general anesthesia. Ticket sales begin Nov. 6 for the YAH Christmas Banquet at $16 per ticket. The Christmas Banquet takes place at 6 pm on Dec. 4, and seating begins at 5:30 pm. Meal: Prime rib with baked potato or chicken breast over rice, shrimp cocktail, whole petite string beans, rolls, and dessert. Entertainment: Squires Family Musicians.
