Serving Hampton Roads to change the world is a part of First Norfolk’s identity all year long. That’s why we have Big Serve opportunities. Big Serve projects show our neighbors that we love them because Jesus loves them. At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, we shifted the way Big Serve worked. Instead of a single week or month of service, we will be serving our community throughout the year in different ways. More than just a few days or weeks of serving in the fall, we conduct food drives, collect items for those in need, coordinate service projects, roll up our sleeves in area schools, and more to show the love of Jesus to our community.
We are collecting and distributing food alongside our ministry partners. We also hold food distribution events on the 3rd Saturday of each month at the Kempsville Road parking lot across from our facility.
We need your help to fill the bags for our neighbors living close to our church building! Bring donations to the church office during the week or the Live the Mission Center on Sundays.
We spent the entire month of September 2019 serving the community of South Norfolk. Over the course of the month, we helped with repairs and maintenance of homes, collected school supplies for South Norfolk schools, actively sought other ways to love on the people of South Norfolk, and had an epic neighborhood bash to culminate our month with our new friends!
