Baking Through the Bible Christmas

December 21, 2020 6:30 PM

Join us for Baking Through the Bible Christmas Edition Monday evening December 21 at 6:30 PM. You'll need to register and pick up a craft packet from the church for the craft. Registration link and all of the details are at our Baking Through the Bible page.

We ask that you follow the basic COVID-19 prevention protocols of wearing a mask whenever inside the building, washing your hands often, staying socially-distanced, not attending if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, have been exposed and you don't know your status, or have been diagnosed as positive within the last 14 days.

There are some alterations being made to traffic flow inside the building and normal operations in order for us to continue to gather safely as we welcome groups back to campus. Please read below and feel free to contact us at 757-461-3226 or email us with any questions.

We are excited to announce that Children LIFEgroups are back in person at 9AM on Sundays and meeting in a new location. If you are comfortable having your family return, welcome back! If you prefer to continue to lead your preschooler online, we celebrate that too! We will continue supporting those who meet with us virtually both for worship and groups. Preschool and Children’s LIFEgroup materials are made available weekly. Click here for Preschool and here for Children’s to access at home materials.

  • Please travel hallways and stairwells on the right side
  • Elevators are reserved for those who are unable to use stairs
  • All traffic to and from east elevator/stairwell and the worship center should be along exterior covered North and South breezeways
  • Those seeking student and adult rooms will need to use the East entrance stairwell or the lobby stairwell
  • To comply with health protocols, children through adults wear masks when inside the building.
  • We will be performing contactless temperature checks for preschool, children, and student attenders. If your child has a temperature, they will not be able to attend.
  • Our team sanitizes all areas regularly and LIFEgroup rooms and the Worship Center are sanitized after each meeting time.
  • All children grades 1-5 now meet together in the Fellowship Hall
  • Parents drop off children at the glass exterior door
  • After dropping off children, adults exit the Fellowship Hall to the lobby

Here are some fun Family Devotions to accompany some of your kid’s favorite movies!

We want learning about God to be fun and exciting!  We welcome children, grades 1-5, to join us in a grade level Zoom LIFEgroup where they will:

  • Be led by friendly, nurturing, and encouraging leaders;
  • Learn, through Bible study, how to apply God’s word into their lives;
  • Grow a loving and lasting relationship with Jesus;
  • Create friendships with others.

It is our desire to share God’s love with every child to a point where they will choose to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Email Julie Hunt to get your child into one of these groups.

June 2021

Look up—way up. That’s where we’re headed. Where I-beams float effortlessly high overhead, carefully guided into place by powerful machinery. Where steel and glass converge in a colossal design that appears to almost touch the sky. These magnificent structures were elaborately designed and intricately built. Yet they all began the same way—with concrete and cranes, rivets and rebar, bulldozers and backhoes; and most importantly, a solid foundation. This summer, kids will grab their hard hats and head out to the construction site to discover that skyscrapers aren’t the only things that need a rock solid foundation.

During VBS, kids will discover that Jesus’ love provides a foundation that will last. When the storms of life come, they’ll need the One who will be with them to the end of the age. When anxiety sets in, they’ll need the assurance that true worth comes from being a child of God, not from what other people think about them. When they feel unworthy, they can remember that Jesus loved them enough to die for them. They’ll learn to be wise builders who continue in what they’ve learned and firmly believe. And they will discover that He who began a good work will be faithful to carry it on to completion. We’re all a work in progress. Life is a hard hat zone. But just wait ‘til you see what God will do!
