Senior Adults

Welcome to one of the exciting ministries at First Baptist Norfolk! Here’s a little about us: The Young at Heart Ministry serves active men and women over the age of 50. In Young at Heart, seniors can continue to use their gifts and skills where they feel most comfortable. We have monthly activities and additional Young at Heart ministry opportunities where seniors can meet new friends, serve, volunteer, and participate in activities of their interest. Everything the Young at Heart does has God at the center as its goal. Monthly Program: Special Speaker, Food, Fun, and Fellowship for All Senior Adults! Special Annual Events: Senior Adult Summer Camp Young at Heart Christmas Social Additional Young at Heart Ministry Opportunities Young at Heart Master’s Choir Senior Adult Council Young at Heart Sponsored Trips Mission Dignity – In support of retired pastors and their wives Young at Heart generously donates.

Our Mission is to honor God by:
  • Providing opportunities for spiritual growth for senior adults;
  • Creating opportunities for fellowship and adventure;

    Grief Share

    Wednesday evenings. 6-8 PM, Room 300 Group facilitators: Steve and Jeanette Stallings Book cost: Free! After the funeral, when the cards and flowers have stopped coming, most of the people around you return to their normal lives. But your grief continues and you feel alone.

    Often, friends and family want to help you, but don't know how. That's the reason for GriefShare. Our group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and have successfully rebuilt their lives. We understand how you feel because we've been in the same place. We will walk with you on the long path through grief toward healing and hope for the future.
